This class is open to seniors in or around the Southwick area!
This specialty class is for those new to yoga, people seeking stress reduction, elderly, disabled, pregnancy and those in recovery from illness, injury or surgery, overweight or workers who sit at a desk all day! People of all ages and walks of life with arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, chronic pain are able to participate.
Benefits include; relaxation, stress reduction, flexibility,
mental clarity, strengthening and toning of muscles,
improved breathing and more!

Janice Pagano, Certified Yoga Instructor, will guide you through a series of traditional yoga poses and deep breathing techniques that will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. Janice has been a yoga practitioner for over 15 years and was certified in October 2007 at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA in
Lakshmi Voleker's Get Fit Where You Sit Chair Yoga training. These classes are specifically designed for bringing yoga to all people, even if they are unable to get on the floor to a yoga mat. Her passion for teaching yoga comes from her own personal challenges of living with chronic pain and limitations. Once an advanced yoga student, to being unable to get up and down off a mat, Janice was motivated to bring yoga to anyone who is seeking to improve their health and well being no matter what kind of condition their body is presently in.

Class Preparation: Do not eat a heavy meal before class. Wear loose comfortable clothing. You may bring a pad/pillow for the chair if you need extra support, a water bottle, and anything else that will make you comforable. Please notify the instructor of any new limitations/illness/medications you are working with prior to the start of a class.

***Due to chemical sensitivities and allergies, please refrain from wearing perfumes or heavily scented detergents or body products***

PRIVATE YOGA LESSONS
If you are unable to come to a class or want more personalized instruction,
we can meet in my office or in your home. In a private session we will explore breathing exercises, and traditional yoga asanas (exercises/postures) from a chair or a mat in a beginner format. An assessment will be made to determine your strengths, weaknesses and goals.These sessions will work all the major muscle groups and will help you strengthen and tone your muscles as well as leaving you
relaxed and recharged!
